about me

Hi, i'm beejay. I'm just a random guy in his forties, experiencing the web how it used to be and should always be.

why i do this

I want a place, which is my own. I don't want big tech to spy on me or potential viewers. Big tech sucks. Commercials suck. And big tech showing commercials and spying on users really suck.
Also i want to embrace content before style. Yeah, there is no content yet and maybe never will come. But at least i'm giving it a (hundreth) try! We (mostly) don't need kilobytes for JS libraries, giant photos, call for actions and all that dumb stuff. Just create something in the simplest possible way and everyone's fine!

what i want to achieve

Hm. Maybe nothing. Maybe just show things of my daily life. Maybe i want to connect to similar minds that just want to have fun. And learn some things on this way.

how i did this

Yeah, i could have used one of the widely available and free hosters for stuff like this. But since i'm a happy owner of a web connected NAS that is running 24/7 anyways, i could also use this resource.
This is just a simple docker container which runs an Nginx server on Alpine Linux. Small, efficient, easy. For now there's just a single index.html file which contains this text. But i guess i will have to do some real html stuff in the future. Folders, images, CSS and so on...We'll see!
